It’s been an exciting week for NSN with a number of significant contract announcements, including a major one for North America – a TD-LTE win with Sprint. On Wednesday, I was with the team in Silicon Valley for the Sprint Spark launch, where we had a blast demonstrating 1.3 Gbps using NSN’s commercial Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station.  We enjoyed giving a preview to media, industry and financial analysts who attended the event, and we received positive feedback for both the demo and our new contract news.

When I joined the North America region in 2011, our goal was to grow the region in LTE.  Since then, we’ve deployed LTE for T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular, and now we’ve entered Sprint as a new radio supplier for its large-scale roll-out, unseating a major competitor.

In fact, Bank of America noted the significance of this announcement to NSN, stating “We see two significant takeaways: 1) NSN has been selected at Sprint for the first time, whilst 2) Ericsson is no longer present, suggesting share loss in the high margin US market.”

Our customers and the market are confident in our abilities and leadership. We’re here to compete and are excited about keeping this momentum going.
