Interactive TV enriches the traditional TV experience by direct interactions related to the current TV program and all other programs via the remote control. Visitors experienced such dynamic applications at our Nokia Siemens Networks booth of PT Expo last week in Beijing.
Viewers can get personalized offers, see related information and purchase goods all just with a few clicks. They can also interact by voting their favourite TV program or star. They can even enjoy preferred widgets on TV screen while watching any program.
One senior executive of China Telecom commented that it was first time they were viewing interactive TV applications and they see high potential in bringing in revenues for IPTV services.
“In the omnimedia era, where information is everywhere, the kind of contents and how they are shared will be the key drivers to ensure improved end-user experience. ” says Markus Borchert, head of customer operations at Nokia Siemens Networks of Greater China region. Based on the ubiquity multiscreen IPTV platform, Nokia Siemens Networks provides an open, simple and flexible interactive application environment to support third-party application providers, media service providers, advertising agencies and operators to develop their own services that are converged with other services, thereby meeting the quick time-to-market requirement.
The solution developed by Nokia Siemens Networks, won the highly prestigious Innovation Award Selection at TelcoTV 2009.
