I thought I should try to provide some sort of structure for my ramblings – and this morning decided to spend all my “touring time” in hall 8, a logical choice as this is where our own stand and hospitality area are located.
Naturally I am a little biased towards Nokia Siemens Networks own presence, and I have to say the stand looks great! Warm, welcoming and clearly standing out from the rest.
This is a shot taken from the front, the strange looking light to the left and across the top are animated patterns of the brand. From here you can see the split levels and the various screens which is where the different demonstrations are done.
Next to the Nokia Siemens Networks stand is the Nokia stand, always very popular. Today when I visited there, it coincided with the Nokia Press announcements so the hospitality areas was particularly busy.
It is good to see that Nokia is now focussing on the idea of context-sensitive web, automatic tagging and on social-networking with a mobile focus. Topic all very cosy to my heart! Now all I need to make my life complete is a new 6220, OVI and Maps 2.0 – oh, and a N96… the simple pleasures of life 🙂
The other stands in hall 8 include Samsung, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel, Intel, LG, Huawei and many others. I have included here 1 shot of each of these, but please visit the Flickr site for a more complete set.
At two of these stands I had quite interesting experiences – I wasn’t able to see anything from one of them except the very pleasant but firm young lady at the entrance guarding the way, and at another stand I as obliged to make a reservation for a guided tour as the only way I would be able to see their offering – a process that took almost 10 minutes to complete. The tour will be tomorrow morning, so let me know if there’s anything special you would like me to see there 🙂
