Phew…the first day in the Presentation Theatre (of which there are two running non-stop back to back presentations to individual customer groups). Today’s theater topics ranged from mobile and wireless broadband to hosting and managed services….altogether nearly 10 sessions were held in my theater alone!
I thought I should start this blog by summarizing one of the popular topics of the day….which I’ve selected based on the questions the customers asked the presenters. The issue was web 2.0 and the implications to our customers networks. So here are just a couple questions raised and discussed, what do you think?
1) With the huge increase in broadband traffic that will result from web 2.0 applications on both mobile and fixed networks, visitors believe that the backhaul network is and will be a bottleneck …. is this a valid concern and what are the possible evolution strategies
2) with the increased interactivity of web 2.0 when will the uploadspeed be considered by customers and consumers as important as download speed?
