I am used to Barcelona in past years. Traffic jams. Crowds. Elbowing my way through the halls. Everyone fighting for a share of voice. Lavish entertainment.
This year, even on Day 1, it feels different. Not gloom and doom by any means, but just quieter, a bit more subdued, some the brashness from earlier years has faded away.

Still lots of opportunity in what is a massive sector – but telecom is also maturing as an industry and the behavior here in Barcelona seems to reflect that and the current economic conditions.
