We enjoyed seeing you all at the recently concluded TelcoTV 2010! We had the opportunity to introduce the Ubiquity Multiscreen TV Platform to North America and offer demonstrations at the Nokia Siemens booth. The solution was well-received by customers, press and analysts, who responded with statements such as “impressive” and “when can we have it?” The feedback was very positive, providing us with the pulse of the IPTV markets in North America and bringing some great momentum for the new year.
Brook Longdon, head of media and entertainment solutions, participated in panel discussions, including Wednesday’s “There’s an App Store for That,” moderated by Vince Vittore of Yankee Group. Longdon provided commentary on whether consumers are willing to pay for apps, as well as which apps are getting traction. He talked about the fact that apps cannot just be for television – They need to be everywhere, including PCs and mobile phones. Apps need to be available wherever consumers want the content.
This points to the fact that consumers want to access content – including apps – from any device at any time, and the Ubiquity Multiscreen TV Platform enables mobile service providers to provide that capability to their customers. The positive response we received at the show underscores the fact that Nokia Siemens is truly transforming the way consumers watch TV.
