With the Nokia Siemens Networks Integration Center, agility is more than a nice idea
If you think about it, the fundamental changes in our industry make huge demands on the OSS/BSS. The game is really changing here. As more subscribers use smart devices, they expect more from them. At the same time, CSPs need their networks to do much more with less.
The OSS/BSS is the key to meeting these somewhat conflicting requirements. And it is the agility of the OSS/BSS systems which determines whether they can also deliver business results on top of superior network performance and a strong customer experience.
No surprise then that agility is also the driver for today’s OSS/BSS transformation strategies. And agility in the OSS domain goes hand in hand with systems integration. The key is to integrate and get a business overview based on the full set of data available in the OSS/BSS solutions.
And there is no way to achieve this without open interfaces. So the more open the system, the more agile the system. This was the reason we developed and launched the new Nokia Siemens Networks Integration Center.
The Integration Center, which comprises a software development kit and public cloud-based test environment, makes it possible for CSPs, systems integrators and element vendors to add new network elements and technologies quickly and efficiently, and without calling in extra support.
With the cloud-based testing environment, developers can prove that their integration is stable and meets the CSPs’ requirements. Integrators can run verification sessions with their customers, helping to raise customer satisfaction and reduce the costs of off-line testing in their own laboratories and the risks of introducing immature integrations to live networks.
So coming full circle, the OSS/BSS can meet the challenges of transformation. All in all, an agile solution that lives up to the name.
