Nokia Siemens Networks has always been at the forefront in making both FDD LTE and TD-LTE a commercial reality. Now, we are proud to announce that we have reached yet another milestone on this fascinating journey and have contracted our 50th LTE customer.
Our LTE journey includes many commercial milestones and successes, including deploying the world’s first and biggest LTE 2600 network with Telia Sweden, pioneering the world’s most comprehensive 800 MHz LTE network with Deutsche Telekom Germany , innovating the world’s biggest and first GSM/LTE 1800 network with Telia Denmark and launching a TD-LTE commercial network with Sky Brazil – another world’s first.
We feel particularly proud about our recent success in the Korean market, where we have moved from having virtually zero footprint in this market to signing LTE contracts with all three tier-1 operators in the country. Gaining significant market share from LG U+, SK Telecom and KT in one of the most competitive markets globally is another proof to the competitiveness and execution capabilities of the Nokia Siemens Networks team and our LTE solution. Traction in the Japanese market is also very encouraging for us as the LTE supplier of both NTT DOCOMO and KDDI.
We believe the statistics speak for themselves – getting 50 individual LTE customers on board underlines the confidence and trust that customers have in our capabilities. This promising market traction also ensures that Nokia Siemens Networks will emerge as a market and thought leader in the LTE 4G arena.
