Ready, set, get your iPads. Elisa, the first operator to test the new interactive Wizard of Cells game from Nokia Siemens Networks, has taken the lead. Eight volunteers brought together their operations expertise and gaming skills to advance to level 10 and beyond in their first session with the game. Teppo Ullakonoja was the champion, advancing to level 14 in just 20 minutes and taking home first prize.

As Wizard of Cells shows, network operations combine all the elements of the best interactive games: suspense, excitement, time pressure and ultimately a successful outcome. Winning at Wizard of Cells requires fast decision making, agility, knowledge and skills to make the right choices and use the right solutions to improve the customer experience. And most important, it’s also fun to play.
The comments from the Elisa team prove the point:
“Now telecoms is fun!”
“It’s a new way to think about running telecom networks.”
“A great problem-solving tool!”
“I’m going to compete with my kids.”
When asked it they would play again, the answer from the team was a resounding “Yes!”
So take the cue from Elisa, put on your operator hat, and be a Wizard of Cells.
