Seeing was believing at MWC
One of our red carpet moments at Mobile World Congress this year was the live demo of our latest TD-LTE innovation: the world’s first data traffic offloading between TD-LTE and FDD-LTE service. The demonstration utilized Nokia Siemens Networks’ Single RAN Advanced Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station and a commercially available dual-mode (FDD and TDD) end-user device. Visitors saw firsthand how traffic from a heavily loaded network, either FDD or TDD, could be effectively and accurately offloaded to a lightly loaded network using our patented base station software algorithm.
Here’s the eye opener: when operators run TD- LTE and FDD- LTE networks simultaneously and subscribers have smart phones and tablets capable of using either network, our base stations will dynamically balance the traffic between the two by intelligently shifting it to the more lightly loaded network. This ensures that subscribers receive maximum bandwidth and operators maximize the use of their expensive spectrum.
