On Monday May 27, CEO Rajeev Suri was part of a very small group of German top business leaders who met with the Premier of China, Mr. Li Keqiang for a personal exchange. This meeting took place during Li Keqiang’s first visit to Germany since he took office as China’s Premier this March.
Rajeev joined nine other top business leaders from Germany including Peter Loescher, CEO of Siemens AG; Dr. Martin Brudermueller, CEO of BASF SE; and Gerhard Oswald, Executive Board member and Global Managing Board of SAP AG in an Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA) sponsored event with the China Premier Li and the Chinese Minister of Commerce, Mr. Gao Hucheng.
This meeting underlines the recognition of Nokia Siemens Network’s contribution to the telecom industry in China during the past decades as well as the excellent relationship and strong engagement that Nokia Siemens Networks has with its partners in China.
As a thought leader and innovator from the early days of TD-SCDMA, Nokia Siemens Networks has distinguished itself through its support of and active participation in the development of TD technologies in China. “We have long-term commitment in China, especially the investment into TD-LTE and support for its standardization”, said Markus Borchert, president of Nokia Siemens Networks Greater China region, who joined the business luncheon on the same day when Premier Li and Minister Gao delivered key note speeches to both Chinese and German top business leaders.
In recent years, Nokia Siemens Networks has been a leader in the development of TD-LTE, actively supporting the global technology standardization, the development and testing of the system in China as well as the international market development of TD-LTE.
