Nokia Solutions and Networks continues to innovate for the globalization and commercialization of TD-LTE. Our recent ad hoc seminar at the Global TD-LTE Initiative (GTI) in Tokyo was testament to this with a spotlight on 3.5 GHz TD-LTE and TD-LTE-Advanced.
As a member of the GTI Partner Forum, NSN was delighted to contribute to the workshop with presentations on the 3.5 GHz band by Mark Atkinson, our head of regional product management.
In addressing the Why, When and How of 3.5 GHz TD-LTE, Mark confirmed that individual use of 1 GB of data will be soon a reality, and how the large spectrum pool of 3.5 GHz will help operators to meet this demand. In fact, he positioned 3.5 GHz TD-LTE radio access as an upcoming operator necessity, and certainly not a big leap in technology due to the maturity of TD-LTE today.
“Given NSN’s traction on TD-LTE and our innovative cost-effective Single RAN solutions, we’re well positioned to help operators utilize the 3.5 GHz spectrum. We’ve successfully demonstrated 1.6 Gbps throughput over TD-LTE, and participants appreciated the new ideas we brought to the table. We are truly committed to helping operators get the most from TD-LTE.”
