Proudly presenting: NSN was just elected “The Most Admired Company in Brazil” in the category of Telecommunications Equipment.
The award is given by CartaCapital magazine as a result of a survey made with over 1,300 key executives that evaluated companies in all sectors and selected the ones with an outstanding position in the country.
This is the 16th year this award has been given, and it has gained quite a reputation in the business community in Brazil. Almir Narcizo, our head of Latin America region, received the award on behalf of NSN in a ceremony in São Paulo, Brazil, attended by representatives of the most admired companies of other sectors, as well as government representatives, ministers and the president, Dilma Rousseff.
“The award is recognition of the company’s good work and that our brand is well perceived in the Brazilian market,” stated Almir Narcizo.
Mobile broadband is growing in importance in Brazil. According to Telebrasil, the Brazilian Association of Telecommunications, mobile broadband has reached 96.3 million subscribers in September, an increase of 51.3% comparing to the same month last year.
Besides the exponential demand increase already taking place, this year presents a special opportunity as the country gets ready for a very large and popular event in 2014. And that readiness, of course, includes enabling the mobile broadband networks to be ready for the high usage volumes and peaks that are usually seen at big events.
As an example of this preparation could be seen recently when Oi Brazil selected NSN to modernize its network infrastructure for 4G, GSM and 3G services, offering a whole new range of data services and applications and enabling its subscribers to enjoy a significantly better mobile broadband experience.
