The season of gift-giving is upon us. Many people will soon be opening shiny new smartphones and coming to grips with lots of lovely apps. This makes it even more vital that you can deliver top quality smartphone performance for your mobile broadband subscribers.
To help your subscribers have the best experience, NSN has released four radio access HSPA features to cut signalling and boost the downlink on networks.
The result? Users enjoy a better smartphone experience and you can support more of them – all with just simple software upgrades to your existing network.
High Speed Cell FACH will dramatically change the handling of small data packets that many smartphones generate. It also cuts set-up times to less than 100 ms between a user’s action and the response time, and reduces signalling between the RNC, base station and smartphone. Users get faster services and your network can support more smartphones.
NSN´s unique Fast Dormancy Profiling eliminates needless signalling caused by some legacy smartphones when they connect to the network. You get more capacity from your network, while users enjoy faster services and longer device battery life.
With the Fast Cell PCH Switching feature, another unique NSN feature, your network can shortcut the signalling process by learning how particular smartphones behave. This results in rapid call set-up, faster mobile broadband services and less signalling.
Also exclusive to NSN, HSUPA Downlink Physical Channel Power Control enables the HSUPA downlink control channels to use less power, with the power saved then being assigned to HSDPA. The feature has been shown to deliver about a 7% increase in downlink throughput in a live operator network.
So those were four simple ways to keep your subscribers happy this holiday and throughout the year. Happy mobile broadbanding to you all!
