It was a proud moment when NSN’s India Region head, Sandeep Girotra, went on stage to accept the award of “Top Managed Services Company in India” for the third year in a row at the prestigious Cybermedia Annual ICT ceremony in New Delhi.
The award is a testimony of our customers’ trust that they have put in NSN to manage their mobile networks successfully. It solidifies NSN’s position as the undisputed leader in Managed Services in India, with a market share of close to 40% in 2012-2013 as evaluated by the V&D100 study by Voice and Data.
NSN has been in the global Managed Services business for the last 15 years and part of India’s Managed Services story since the beginning of GSM network rollouts in 2003-2004. The story continues to today’s 4G networks, where NSN manages over 220 million subscribers for the top 5 private operators in India. This involves more than 180,000 base stations spread out over 85% of the country, carrying more than 2.3 billion minutes a day of telephone data. Additionally, NSN manages over 175,000 transmission nodes and over 4,000 IP routers and switches, a testament to our proven vendor-agnostic Managed Services capability.
As India’s mobile telecommunication continues to see exponential data traffic growth, NSN is leading the way for transformation in Managed Services. We are not only implementing new processes, driving automation and developing a robust end-to-end network management model, but we also help companies change from carrying out pure network operations to improving Service and Customer Experience Management.
NSN has been leading in Managed Services in India because of its competitive advantage in robust network management with its largest Global Delivery Center, managing over 250 million subscribers globally. In addition to this, our real-time service management solution which leverages the world’s first vendor-operated Service Management Center in India is a key step towards the evolution of the Managed Services model. Operators can leverage a pool of over 5,000 service professionals in India trained in next-generation network technologies like LTE and IP. Furthermore, our expertise in Managed Services in India also enabled us to successfully manage some of the world’s largest public events such as the Kumbh Mela, Rath Yatra, Ambaji Fair, and restore networks during natural disasters like the Uttarakhand flood and the cyclone in Orissa with minimal disruptions.
NSN’s next-generation Service Management offering was also recognized at the Aegis Graham Bell Innovation award in India in 2013 for “Innovation in Managed Services”. And earlier this month, NSN received an award from Amity University in India as the “Top Wireless Infrastructure Company for 2013”, recognizing NSN’s clear momentum as a leader in Mobile Broadband and Services in India.
We are grateful to our customers in India and operators around the world for their continued trust in NSN Managed Services. Through our strategy of operational excellence, combined with innovation, we will help our customers remain or become best-of-class mobile network and service providers.
