There’s no lack of excitement in the run-up to Mobile World Congress 2014! On January 29, GSMA announced that NSN and Telefonica O2 UK are shortlisted for the GSMA Awards in the category “Best Mobile Infrastructure”. The joint entry was for our deployment of iSON automation for operations – standing out as a services-led solution in an infrastructure category. The winners will be announced on February 25 in Barcelona.
Nokia Solutions and Networks’ iSON Automation for Operations helps rapidly resolve network outages through automated resets and self-healing re-occurring faults. It enables a complete operational transformation by reducing time-consuming manual interventions, freeing operations personnel to engage in more proactive maintenance of its complex heterogeneous networks. This helps improve network availability and service quality, which in turn increases subscriber satisfaction. On top of all that, significant energy savings can be achieved.
With this solution, Telefonica O2 UK achieved impressive results, including a reduction of 10,000 manual tasks a month and resulting in significant OPEX savings. Talk about simplifying operations!
There’s more about the case by Gary Wade from Telefonica O2’s Network Operation Center in our webinar available on demand.
Outage resolution, one of the features used by O2, will be demonstrated at Mobile World Congress 2014. More information about the solution available here.
