Having trouble getting the capacity you need to meet the demands of mobile users in dense urban environments, particularly at rush hour and other busy times? How would you like to put new small cells in place within 30 minutes?
Sounds too good to be true, but that’s exactly what Nokia is achieving in a trial network in Chicago. The Nokia Research Center in Arlington Heights, Chicago, has brought installation and commissioning times of small cells down to less than half an hour.
The achievement is outlined in a new video, which shows how Nokia worked with the local authority to access lamp posts, achieving these ultra-fast commissioning times through the ability of its Flexi Zone cellular solution to use unconventional sites.
From 2015, we will see small cell deployments rocket and provide capacity for indoors and outdoors as well as for businesses.
Watch this video to see why Nokia’s pioneering work in Chicago is so important.
