With the goal of becoming “Employer of Choice”, the Nokia Networks Technology Center (TC) in Athens, Greece, decided last summer to implement the “Investors in People” (IIP) International Standard and to apply for the IIP Accreditation.
Based on the excellent evaluation results, our Nokia Networks TC Athens was awarded with the IIP accreditation in a ceremony organized by the Hellenic Management Association (HMA) Investors in People on November 25, 2014. Aris Drossis, head of Nokia Networks TC Athens says:
“We believe that it is important to invest in the wellbeing of our employees for increased commitment, motivation and productivity in return. Our culture is complimented by proven competence development and business target achievement programs designed to ensure the active participation of every individual employed by Nokia Networks.”
More than 70 interviews were conducted with randomly selected Technology Center employees and managers in Athens. The assessment addressed all existing processes, with emphasis on the successful induction of the newcomers and development of the experienced personnel.
According to Gill Brown, Investors in People Specialist Assessor:
“This organisation has to be one of the best, if not the best, organization I have ever assessed as a first time assessment. I described you as ‘an explosion of IIP’ and it was an absolute delight and pleasure to be part of it for a few days.”
Konstantinos Lambrinopoulos, HMA, President of the Board added: “We congratulate Nokia (MBB) for its outstanding achievement as regards the Human Resources Management practices and hereafter their Investors in People international accreditation. Nokia is a role model company in Greece and we wish it a sustainable future”.
Kudos to Aris and the entire organization, who now plan to leverage the standard and its implementation to improve and develop even further.
