Light Reading has announced the finalists for its 2015 Leading Lights Awards, and Nokia Networks is proud to say we have been nominated as finalists in three categories for this prestigious award. Leading Lights, now in its eleventh year, is one of the communications industry’s leading awards program. Light Reading’s reputation for insightful analysis makes this among the most credible and authoritative awards program in the industry.
According to Ray Le Maistre, Editor-in-chief at Light Reading, in his latest blog announcing the finalists, there were hundreds of entries and of a very high standard, making the judging process more difficult than ever.
Nokia Networks made the shortlist in the categories of “Most Innovative IoT/M2M Strategy” with our LTE For Machine Type Communication; the “Most Innovative NFV Product Strategy” with our Nokia Radio Cloud solution; and “Most Innovative Security Strategy” for our Security in Networks for Internet of Things (IoT):
LTE-M: LTE for Machine Type Communication – Nokia Networks LTE-M makes low ARPU machine connectivity economically feasible, providing an entry into the IoT connectivity business for mobile operators. It gives operators the technology to run massive machine type communication over their existing networks without the need to build an additional network with proprietary technology.
Radio Cloud – Nokia Radio Cloud architecture is our solution for a successful telco cloud deployment in an operator radio access network. Building on our existing telco cloud portfolio, it introduces a new architecture to maximize radio performance using distributed cloud technology.
Security in Networks for Internet of Things – Nokia Networks provides a secure and resilient mobile network infrastructure ready to support the challenges presented by the IoT as well as dedicated solutions such as Mobile Guard that detect and prevent security attacks from IoT devices.
Winners will be announced in Chicago on June 8 at the Field Museum, the evening before The Big Telecom Event (BTE) opens its doors.
