This post could really be titled “a typical day in the life of a global telecoms infrastructure, software and services provider”.
We issued a couple of news releases today, one about WiMAX being on show in Rio de Janeiro and the other about leading Polish satellite provider Cyfrowy Polsat launching itself as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) with our help.
One of the great things about operating in a many countries as we do is seeing the different stages of development and interest in different telco business models and technologies. Both Brazil and Poland are seeing growth in mobile services.
The MVNO landscape is developing and when you’re a “media incumbent” such as Cyfrowy Polsat, diversifying into the mobile side of your customers lives is a positive step to help add value and increase brad awareness.
On the other side of the Atlantic, at the WiMAX Forum 2008 in Rio de Janeiro, Nokia Siemens Networks will share its vision of the future connected world and WiMAX’s potential role in the offerings of these players. (Note on the WiMAX forum, I think we’re the lanyard sponsor, as opposed to the “laynard” sponsor. Although the latter does sound intriguing…). On Dec 4th, Dr. Frank Perthel head of broadband wireless business development at NSN will be giving a seminar.
